Trump Releases Statement On Death Of US Soldiers And Outlines How He Would’ve Pulled Out Of Afghanistan
Former President Donald Trump continued his tirade against President Joe Biden and what he described as the Democratic administration’s “horrible, stupid decisions” which led to the messy withdrawal and evacuation of US troops, allies and refugees out of Afghanistan.
The former President also slammed Biden’s actions that led to the deaths of at least 13 US servicemen and 60 Afghans after multiple attacks near the Kabul airport rocked evacuations on Thursday.
Trump said the death of the American soldiers “should never have been allowed to happen” — as he lamented that he would have been able to get all Americans and allies out of Afghanistan before pulling out troops entirely out of the country.

“Melania and I send our deepest condolences to the families of our brilliant and brave Service Members whose duty to the USA. meant so much to them,” Trump said in a statement following the suicide attacks near Hamid Karzai International Airport which also left 15 other US service members and 143 Afghans wounded.
“Our thoughts are also with the families of the innocent civilians who died today in the savage Kabul attack,” he added. “This tragedy should never have been allowed to happen, which makes our grief even deeper and more difficult to understand.”
“May God Bless the USA,” Trump continued.
Before the multiple bombings on Thursday, the former Republican chief executive appeared on “The Hugh Hewitt Show” — where he also lambasted Biden and the administration’s “horrible, stupid decisions” in the past week and a half which resulted to Americans now scrambling to evacuate all Americans and pull out all US troops by August 31.
Trump said the worst part of Biden’s move in Afghanistan is “allowing our military to leave before the civilians and before we get all of our equipment back, US$83 billion dollars.”
“And not, nobody can even comprehend that much equipment. Thousands of vehicles,” Trump added.
“I think it’s the most embarrassing moment for our military and for our country,” he added, referring to the manner that the Biden administration implemented the withdrawal of US forces in Afghanistan.
“For some reason, it doesn’t make sense, he pulled the military out first,” Trump added.
What Trump would have done
The former president then outlined how he would have pulled out the US presence in Afghanistan — starting off with the evacuation of all Americans.
“I would have gotten all Americans out,” Trump said. “I would have gotten all of the people that helped us out that were in danger.”
Former President Trump noted that he would have also maintained US troops in Bagram Air Base before the withdrawal was completed, in contrast to Biden’s action to let American troops vacate the air base on July 2, over a month ahead of the planned pull out of all US forces in the country.
Trump said he would have also secured all military equipment of the US.
“I want every single nail, screw, and bolt,” he said of the US military equipment in Afghanistan, which is now in the hands of the Taliban.
“I then would have, with the exception of Bagram, which I would have kept, I would have bombed all of the bases, because I don’t want to give those bases to Russia, China, or even the Taliban. I would have bombed every base,” he added.
The former president then said that Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley advised him before that “it’s cheaper to leave the equipment than to take it out” of Afghanistan — to which he retorted that the suggestion is “one of the dumbest statements I’ve ever heard.”
Trump also alleged before the deadly attacks on Thursday that the agreement he had with Taliban leader Abdul Qahar Balkhi was the reason why there were no US troops killed in Afghanistan for 18 months.
“I had a very, very tough conversation with him about what we’re going to do to them if anything happens,” former President Trump said.
“But you really have to add to your three points, also add the fact that nobody was to be killed, harmed in any way, and nobody was. It was an amazing thing. We had a very strong agreement. It was conditions-based,” he added.
Biden admin sharing “limited” intel with Taliban
He went on to share the threat he gave Balkhi during their negotiations.
“If you do anything bad to the United States of America, if you do anything bad to any of our civilians, to any American citizen, I will hit you harder than anybody has ever been hit in world history. You will be hit harder than any country and any person has ever been hit in world history,” Trump said.
Meanwhile, the former president also lamented how the current set-up of evacuations in Afghanistan are allowing “some very, very bad terrorists” to get on planes out of the country to various parts of the world due to lack of vetting during the airlift being conducted.
Recently, Politico reported that US officials are also providing the Taliban with names of Americans, Afghan allies to evacuate.
