Twitter Employees Have Triggered Reactions In Response To Elon Musk Stock Purchase
Twitter employees were triggered Monday after Elon Musk bought over 9% of Twitter stock. Musk’s stock purchase came after he started rumors that he might buy out Twitter completely, or create an alternative social media platform.
The billionaire CEO has attacked Twitter for its “free speech” policy, suggesting it is not truly a free speech platform.
Reporter Andy Ngo exposed Twitter employees that reacted negatively to Musk’s purchase. One individual employee with the username Creme de Cassie said, “A prominent transphobe buying a large stake in Twitter is not at all funny.”
De Cassie, a biological male, has the pronouns “she/her” in his bio and self describes himself as a “Feminist Demisexual Genderqueer Trans Woman.”
A Twitter senior software engineer who also has pronouns in his bio, Gerard Taylor, expressed fear that Musk may damage Twitter’s “company culture.”
