Video Shows Person Hanging From U.S. Black Hawk Helicopter Flying Over Afghanistan City

The Taliban appears to be flaunting its new air force in the sky above Afghanistan, with footage reportedly showing US-made Black Hawk helicopters flying over Kandahar’s streets.

According to some estimates, the Taliban now have more Black Hawk helicopters than 85% of the globe after the US abandoned $85 billion in military equipment.

Unverified video posted by the Talib Times Twitter account, which claims to be the “official news” feed of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, shows a person dangling from a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter a day before the US withdraws from the nation.

It comes only days after another video seemed to show Taliban “test driving” seized Blackhawk helicopters over the ground at Kandahar Airport in southern Afghanistan.

According to White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, the US lacks a “complete picture” of the defense supplies that have slipped into the hands of the Taliban.

“Those Black Hawks were not given to the Taliban. They were given to the Afghan National Security Forces to be able to defend themselves at the specific request of President [Ashraf] Ghani, who came to the Oval Office and asked for additional air capability, among other things,” Mr Sullivan said at a press conference.

While the Biden administration evaluates the quantity of equipment still in Afghanistan, the Taliban has been mocking the US by appearing in American clothes and high-tech gear such as night vision goggles while driving about in armoured Humvees.

“Our Air Force! At this time, the Islamic Emirate’s air force helicopters are flying over Kandahar city and patrolling the city,” the tweet said.

Another user shared that it looks like the person is alive and hanging on.
