(WATCH) Alleged Domestic Terrorist Who Attempted To Assassinate Mayor Candidate Called For Gun Control In 2018 (VIDEO)
The suspect charged in Monday’s assassination attempt of Louisville, Kentucky, mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg has been recognized as an activist for black civil rights and gun control.
Quintez Brown, 21, was charged with attempted murder and four charges of wanton endangerment, the Louisville Metro Police Department announced.
In 2018, Brown was featured in an MSNBC program showing student activists engaging in “March For Our Lives” events in Washington, D.C., advocating for stronger gun regulations.
Brown was seventeen years old at the time and was the president of the Black Student Union at DuPont Manual High School in Louisville. Brown was platformed by MSNBC’s Joy Reid to discuss gun control.
Addressing Kentucky Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell, who was the Senate majority leader then, Brown said student activists want Congress to act on firearms, “and if you’re not going to give us that, then we’re going to get everyone out here to vote, and we’re going to vote you out of office.”
“Get rid of assault rifles,” Brown stated.
