WATCH: Democrat Virginia Governor BANS Guns From State Capitol For “Safety” Reasons
Virginia Democrat Governor Ralph Northam declared a state of emergency to ban firearms from the state capitol.
During a press conference, Northam claimed to have received intelligence that various pro-second amendment groups, which Northam refers to as “hate groups,” have threatened to initiate armed protests at the state capitol.
“There are groups with malicious plans for the rally that is planned for Monday,” said Governor Northam. “This includes out of state militia groups and hate groups planning to travel from across the country to disrupt our democratic process with acts of violence. They are not coming to peacefully protest. They are coming to intimidate and to cause harm.”
In response to the new gun ban in Virginia, West Virginia state lawmakers have invited pro-Second Amendment counties in Virginia to secede from Virginia and integrate into West Virginia.
Richmond, Virginia Democratic Mayor Levar Stoney declared that violations of the Virginia state gun ban “will not be tolerated.”
