(WATCH) DeSantis Goes Off, Calls January 6th The Mainstream Media’s ‘Christmas’ (VIDEO)
Governor Ron Desantis (R-FL) labeled the Jan. 6th Capitol protest the mainstream media’s “Christmas” and added that he would not watch any news coverage this January 6th because he would find it “nauseating.”
When questioned about his feelings on the one-year anniversary of the J6 protest, DeSantis began to blame the media for its coverage of the event. DeSantis said “there is an obsession with this among the DC-New York journalist class.”
DeSantis explained that he believes the media can “spin” whatever kind of “narrative that they want.”
He continued, “they are going to take this and milk this for anything they could to try to be able to smear anyone, whoever supported Donald Trump.”
DeSantis also ripped on the J6 anniverseray events planned by Nancy pelosi, saying that he doesn’t “expect anything good to come out of anything that Pelosi and the gang are doing.”
Speaking on the media’s news coverage on the anniversary of the January 6th protest, DeSantis said, “I think it’s going to be nauseating, quite frankly, and I’m not going to do it.”
DeSantis, who is up for reelection in 2022 and is among a group of Republicans who are considering running for president in 2024, compared coverage of the Jan. 6 protests to the coverage of the 2017 shooting at a congressional baseball practice, implying that the coverage of the riot had been much more aggressive than the coverage of the shooting.
He went on to say that drawing parallels between the riots and the September 11 attacks was a “insult to the people who were going into those buildings.”
The Governor added, “it’s an insult to people when you say it’s an insurrection, and then a year later, nobody has been charged with that.”
“I think it’s going to end up being just a politicized Charlie Foxtrot today.”
