WATCH: Former Ms. Nevada Claims Her Title Was Revoked For Supporting President Trump
Former Ms. Nevada State Katie Williams claims her title was revoked for supporting President Trump.
Williams, a combat veteran and a member of the National Guard, claims she was stripped of her title as Ms. Nevada State over her social media posts, which were supportive of President Trump and expressed love for America. Williams also made posts that condemned Antifa violence.
According to Williams, she thought her decision to post about her political views was acceptable in the eyes of the pageant, because according to screenshots of a conversation between Williams and the CEO of the Ms. America Pageant, Susan Jeske, Jeske told Williams to take a picture with President Trump and Donald Trump Jr. while wearing her sash at a Turning Point USA event that Williams’ attended.
The Ms. America Pageant released a statement addressing Williams’ allegations: “ALL the pageant asked of Ms. Williams, in writing, is to keep separate social media accounts. (ie: Facebook) One is for politics where she can voice her own opinion as Katie Williams and the other is a new Facebook page for the pageant representing Ms. Nevada State 2019. None of this had to do with her personal political views.”
Although Williams complied with the pageant’s request to make a separate Facebook page, Williams claims the pageant coordinators continued to make complaints about posts she made on her personal Facebook page that were pro-Trump.
Williams asserts she was unfairly targeted strictly for her conservative views.
