WATCH: In 1996, Joe Biden Supported Using The Military To Defend U.S. Facilities Against Terrorist Attacks By Iran

On January 3, 2020, the U.S. took out Iranian General Qasem Soleimani through an airstrike.

Soleimani was the head of the Quds force, a group focused on overseas operations.

Democratic frontrunner Joe Biden responded by releasing an attack ad that describes President Trump as “erratic and unstable.” However, in 1996, Biden said that any attack on U.S. facilities overseas is grounds for retaliation. Now Biden claims that President Trump’s actions will allow for “the regeneration of ISIS” in Iran.

Obama Administration DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson defended President Trump’s actions stating that Trump had “ample domestic legal authority to take [Soleimani] out.”
