(WATCH) Jen Psaki Says During Rant If You’re Frustrated With America ‘Have A Margarita’ (VIDEO)

Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, went on a rant Friday, expressing frustration with the Biden administration’s “devastating” week after a multitude of Democrat policies failed to pass in the Senate.

While appearing on ABC’s “The View,” Psaki expressed disappointment in the Senate for voting down proposed federal voting legislation as well their failure to end the Senate filibuster, and she encouraged outraged supporters to “go to a kickboxing class” and “have a margarita” over the weekend before continuing the fight.

Following Sens. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) and Joe Manchin(D-WV) decisions to vote with all Republicans in opposition to changes to the filibuster, guest co-host Linsey Davis asked Psaki where she saw these policies moving forward. “The path forward is we have to keep fighting,” Psaki said.

The press secretary went on to say, “I think this week has been frustrating, devastating, angering, all of those things. There are so many activists across this country who have been so central to getting to this point. I mean just a year ago, there were more people who were opposed to filibuster changes in the Senate, so we’ve made some progress on that front, but we’ve got to stay at it.”

“So my advice to everyone out there who’s frustrated, sad, angry, pissed off: Feel those emotions, go to a kickboxing class, have a margarita, do whatever you need to do this weekend, and then wake up on Monday morning. We’ve got to keep fighting,” she explained.

The issue of the federal voting law, Psaki maintained, needs to be continually pressed on senators since such changes would be permanent and “make sure people’s rights are protected.”

She added that people all throughout the country needed to educate themselves on their voting rights in order to exercise them effectively.

“There’s a lot we need to do on that front, and that’s going to rely on the energy and the anger of that activism as well.”
