Officer Cameron Maciejewski has been hailed a hero after he saved a 3-week-old baby who was choking.

When Officer Maciejewski’s first holds the unresponsive baby, he calmly tells the mother, “Calm down, calm down, calm down, let me see the baby. Hold on. Let me see. OK, hold on. Let me see the baby. Let me see the baby? He’s still blinking. He’s blinking. OK, hold on. Hold on. “
Officer Maciejewski followed up in a livestream with Senator Rand Paul describing how he saved the choking baby. Sen. Rand Paul mentioned how he kept his cool during the intense situation.
Officer Maciejewski credits his training for preparing him to stay calm during intense situations stating, “I attribute all that to all the training that I received from the police academy to training with my department and everything. I mean, I have to get to a scene, assess the situation. And if I start freaking out or if I can’t handle myself or maintain my cool, then that just escalates everything for the family. And as you saw in the video, there was lots of family there.”
