(WATCH) Santa Claus Portrayed As Gay In New Commercial (VIDEO)

A four-minute commercial was released by Posten Norge, a Norwegian postal service, that portrays Santa Claus passionately kissing another male. The commerical will be aired on Norweigian television.

The commerical is titled “When Harry met Santa” and was released to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of the decriminalization of homosexuality in Norway. Posten’s marketing director said, “we wanted to celebrate the 50-year anniversary since the abolition of a law prohibiting same-sex relationships.”

A clear attraction develops between Harry, the Norwegian main character, and Santa throughout the course of the video.   Harry makes his attraction known to Santa by writing him a letter in English in which he says, “All I want for Christmas is you.”

As the video goes on, Santa visits Harry year after year and eventually tells Harry he “got some help so that we could be together.” Then the two individuals begin to kiss.

The video ends saying, “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, from all of us to all of us.”

After the advertisement was released, a Posten Norge spokeswoman stated that it was created with the goal of showing people that “love has no limits” and claims the response from the Norwegian public has been “overwhelming.”

A survey ran by YouGov suggested that a majority of people in the UK found it “unacceptable” that Santa Clause be portrayed as homosexual.
