(WATCH) Tennessee Titans Player Charged With Assault After Getting Into Fight At Walgreens (VIDEO)

Tennessee Titans outside linebacker Bud Dupree has been given a citation charging him with misdemeanor assault after he got into a fight with a Walgreens employee in Nashville.

Metro Nashville P.D. said the altercation occurred Sunday night, 8 PM CT, at Walgreens. There was a verbal disagreement between the 20-year-old male employee and a group of individuals who had entered the store. The group of individuals reentered the store with Dupree, who allegedly grabbed the employee and his phone and proceeded to assault him before leaving the store.

In a statement released Tuesday, the MNPD said, “Due to the victim being assaulted, the defendant is being charged with assault-fear of bodily injury.”

MNPD spokesperson Don Aaron told The Tennessean that the employee was attempting to film the incident with his phone while being assaulted. The employee received a cut on his forehead during the incident and a female employee also received a cut on her hands during the altercation.

Dupree has three weeks before he must appear in court for booking.

According to a statement from the Nashville Police Department, the citation was issued following consultation with the district attorney’s office. Detectives met with Dupree and his attorney on Tuesday morning to discuss the case. On Monday, Dupree’s attorney also met with investigators.
