WATCH: This School Shooting Suspect Was Released 1 Day After The Shooting (VIDEO)

This afternoon, the Texas teenager who reportedly opened fire at his high school, wounding four people, including a teacher, was released from custody,  an attorney who appeared beside him claimed that this was not a“standard-issue school shooting.”

Timothy George Simpkins, 18, a student at Timberview High School in Arlington, will be released from Tarrant County Jail after posting a $75,000 bail, according to television station WFAA. He will be placed in home confinement.

During his transfer from the jailhouse, Simpkins, who was dressed simply in a blue baseball hat and a graphic t-shirt, did not respond to reporters’ queries as he was led into the backseat of a white Mercedes car by two relatives.

He will also be required to submit to drug and alcohol tests as well as wear a GPS tracking device as part of the terms of his release.

Kim T. Cole, a civil rights attorney who spoke on behalf of the family, slammed journalists outside the prison for presenting the deadly event as a “standard-issue school shooting.”

“There are numerous school shootings that have occurred across this country which are tragic. All school shootings are tragic,” Cole said. “However, in this situation, this was not someone who was just out to go and shoot a school and had made up their mind [and said,] ‘You know hey I’m upset and I’m just going to shoot anyone I see.”

“That was not the situation here. So I request the media correct their narrative with regard to what happened, and that you all respect the family’s privacy,” she added.

Simpkins was reportedly involved in an argument with another student during class on Wednesday, which escalated to the point of shooting, according to video posted on social media.

An officer broke up the altercation and the two students regained their composure, but Simpkins then took a handgun from his orange bag and fired multiple rounds, injuring three individuals, according to an arrest warrant issued on Thursday.

A 25-year-old English teacher who intervened to break up the brawl was shot in the back and had fractured ribs and a collapsed lung, according to police and his family.

Following the release of a bond document, which Dallas News was able to acquire, the additional victims were named as Zacchaeus Selby, Eyimofe Olawepo, and Pariesa Altma.

According to police, a 15-year-old boy is in serious condition, while a teenage girl who was grazed by a bullet has been released from the hospital after receiving treatment.

According to police, the fourth victim, a pregnant lady, was wounded during the shooting when she fell. She was treated on the spot and released, according to police.

Simpkins has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon.
