WATCH: This Vote-By-Mail Experiment Reveals Shocking Potential Problems (VIDEO)

A vote-by-mail simulation was conducted where 100 ballots were mailed, but only 97 of those ballots were successfully sent, creating a 3% error. President Trump has challenged Nevada’s potential expansion of vote-by-mail arguing that universal vote-by-mail invites miscounts and fraud.

The experiment begins with sending out 100 mock ballots and simulating 100 voters from locations all around Philadelphia to a P.O. Box set up to resemble a local election office.

Days later, 100 more mock ballots were sent out using the same size envelopes in the same class of mail as the real ballots. In the following week they checked the P.O. Box for the results, with the mail pickup notices and during the pickup, most of the ballots seemed to be lost. The person conducting the experiment stated, “We had to ask for a manager and explain ourselves before someone finally found out votes. We soon discovered another problem. Missorted mail, two pieces of it. We got a birthday card from Mike to Ronny. “

After coming across the issues of unsorted mail, they realized 21% of their votes had not materialized after four days and the batch mailed a week prior were missing as well.

Their findings were, “So of our 100 ballots, 97 arrived, which sounds pretty good unless you consider the fact that that means three people who tried to vote by mail in our mock election were in fact disenfranchised by mail. In a close election, three percent could be pivotal, especially in what’s expected to be a record year for mail-in voting. We’re going to see somewhere between probably 80 and 100 million voters receiving their ballot that way. ”
