WATCH: Trump Gets Warm Welcome In Florida From His Supporters After Arriving From D.C. (VIDEO)

Former President Donald Trump received a warm welcome in Florida with his supporters cheering and lining the streets of Mar-a-Lago where he plans to spend his time after exiting the White House on Wednesday.

His energetic supporters waved American flags and held-up signs welcoming him home as they cheered the former president as his motorcade slowly made its way through the streets of Southern Florida.

They also held-up placards such as “We love you President Trump” and “Pres Trump won” along with others bearing the sign “Welcome Home.”

Local reports said Trump supporters had been lining up for hours along Southern Boulevard between Palm Beach Airport and Trump’s resort to wish him well.

The former president was also seen waving back to the crowd multiple times and doing a thumbs-up sign.

The former Republican president left the nation’s capital Wednesday morning, a few hours ahead of the inauguration of Democrat Joe Biden as the 46th president, that he also skipped — making him the first president to do so since 1869.

His supporters — some of them coming from Texas and Georgia — told multiple media outlets that they wanted to “welcome him home” and “show how much we appreciate him.” Others said it’s a way to assure the former president that “he’s not alone, he did a great job and we support him.”

“For the most part, it’s just a somber but at the same time celebratory moment for us to welcome him back home,” said another Trump supporter.

Earlier on Wednesday, the now former president bid his supporters goodbye and told a crowd of about 200-300 people gathered at the Joint Base Andrews in Maryland that though his term as president has ended he will be back in politics “in some form” as news floated the idea that he will set-up his own political party to be called “Patriot’s Party.”

“We love you very much,” Trump told his supporters. “This has been an incredible four years.” “It’s been something very special,” he added. “What we’ve done has been amazing by any standard.”

“Remember us. We will be back in some form.”

He closed his farewell speech — his last as US President — saying, “Have a good life. We will see you soon.”

Trump left Biden a note

Meanwhile, as Trump left Washington D.C. He also left a letter for President Biden at the Resolute Desk of the Oval Office  — keeping up a 32-year old tradition of US President’s leaving a note to the incoming president.

Biden said the message which Trump wrote him was “very generous.”

“The president wrote a very generous letter. I’m not going to talk about it because it was private, so I will not talk about it until I talk to him, but it was generous,” Biden said.
