WATCH: Trump’s Attorney SLAMS House Democrats’ Sham Impeachment Process During Day 1 Of Senate Impeachment Trial
White House counsel Pat Cipollone slammed the House Democrats’ sham impeachment hearings.
Cipollone took shots at Democrat Congressman Adam Schiff for refusing to let President Trump call witnesses during the House impeachment inquiry.
“What happened was the proceedings took place in a basement of the House of Representatives,” explained Cipollone. “The president was forbidden from attending. The president was not allowed to have a lawyer present. In every other impeachment proceeding, the president has been given a minimal, a minimal amount of due process.”
Cipollone continued, “Not even Mr. Schiff’s Republican colleagues were allowed into the skiff.”
Cipollone highlighted that Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi waited 33 days to hand over the articles of impeachment to the Senate despite Pelosi’s claim that she had an “overwhelming” case against President Trump.
“We hear all this talk about an overwhelming case, an overwhelming case that they’re not even prepared today to stand up and make an opening argument about,” said Cipollone.”
Cipollone said this delay proves that the Democrats have no legitimate charges against Trump.
In the spirit of the upcoming 2020 election, Cipollone invoked the words of the founding fathers, saying that “a partisan impeachment is like stealing an election.”
