(WATCH) Zac Stacy Claims The Woman He Beat ‘Staged’ The Attack Out Of ‘Bitterness’ (VIDEO)
Former NFL Player Zac Stacy told police that his brutal beating of his ex-girlfriend was “staged” and that she set him up because she was “bitter” since he did not want to be with her.
The police video that shows Stacy’s conversation with officers was obtained by TMZ days after he physically and excessively beat his ex-girlfriend at her Florida home.
While being taken into custody on Nov. 13, Stacy can be heard speaking with Orlando Police Department officers for several minutes about the events that led up to the confrontation, during which he insists everything was “was staged.”

Stacy told the officers, “It’s just a case of just bitterness, man. That’s why she did this. The whole assault thing, she staged it. She set me up.”
Stacy continued “The whole thing was staged. All she’s trying to do is get money out of me. She got a reaction out of me.”
The reason Stacy believes his ex-girlfriend — who is also the mother of his months-old baby — is furious with him is that he does not want to resume a romantic relationship with her, he explained.
The former St. Louis Rams and New York Jets player told police that the lady knew he wasn’t in a good mental state (he had recently completed treatment for anxiety and depression), and she took advantage of that to get “a reaction out of me.”
Stacy explained, “She knew I was down, she knew I was going through anxiety and depression. She knew I was trying to close this gap that’s between me and my son and she’s just upset that she got caught and she’s upset I’m not taking care of him like she expected. And now she took it this far.”
“This is just a case of just girl is just bitter that I don’t want to be with her and she’s just trying to destroy my whole reputation ’cause of this s***.” Stacy continued.
Stacy then admitted to the authorities that he had “f***ed up.” by acting in the way he had.
“I don’t know what man — how any man could have handled that situation,” Stacy said.
The 30-year-old man was booked on felony aggravated battery and felony criminal mischief charges.
Stacy is now out of jail on bond.
