Wendy’s has broken away from other companies and is raising money for adoption instead of abortion.

Wendy’s and its partner, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, are raising funds to help find permanent homes for children in foster care.

In May, Wendy’s started a new initiative called “Cause Cups.” Wendy’s partnered with Snapchat to put Snapcodes on Wendy’s cups. For each time that a Wendy’s customer scans the Snapcode on the cup, Wendy’s will donate $5 to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.

Wendy’s will donate up to $500,000 to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption this year.

According to the Family Council, several multi-billion dollar companies have contributed money directly to planned parenthood, including: Bank of America, Ben & Jerry’s, Converse, JP Morgan Chase, Microsoft, Nike, PayPal, PepsiCo, Starbucks, United Airlines, and Verizon.

In May, Netflix employees donated over $20,000 to Planned Parenthood. Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos also announced that the company might stop filming in Georgia because of the state’s pro-life “heartbeat” law.

Catholic Connect shared a post on Instagram promoting Wendy’s campaign. Catholic Connect captioned the photo, “Instead of supporting the sick for-profit abortion industry of Planned Parenthood, this is what big corporations should be doing for America. Bravo @wendys.”

Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas was adopted at 6-weeks-old and made adoption the signature cause of the Wendy’s company. Thomas established the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption in 1992.

The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption focuses on those foster children who are “older, have special needs, or are part of a sibling group.”

Since its creation, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption has helped more than 8,500 foster kids find loving families who have adopted them.

Next time you’re at Wendy’s, be sure to snap a picture of your drink!
