White House Fails To Defend Biden’s Claim He ‘Used To Drive 18 Wheeler’, 1973 Article Tells Different Story

On Wednesday, President Biden, a 48-year political veteran, raised eyebrows when he claimed to have driven an 18-wheeler vehicle, a claim the White House failed to defend.

Biden was touring a Mack Truck plant in Pennsylvania when he claimed to have previously driven the large vans, which need a special license.

In a video uploaded on Twitter on Wednesday, Biden said, “I used to drive an 18-wheeler, man. I got to.”

There really is no evidence that Biden has ever hauled an 18-wheeler truck.

When asked whether the president had ever driven such a truck, a White House spokesman referenced a December 1973 story from the Wilmington Evening Journal, which said that Biden had ridden an 18-wheeler on a 536-mile drive to Ohio.

When Fox News questioned the president’s spokesman about the president’s statement – emphasizing that riding in a truck isn’t the same as driving one – the president’s spokesperson referred to a United Federation of Teachers article about Biden’s summertime job driving a school bus.

According to SchoolBusFleet.com, the majority of faculty buses “have two axles, with the bigger models having two wheels on the front axle and four wheels on the dual axle, for a total of six wheels.”

Fox News inquired about the president’s statement once again, pointing out that a school bus isn’t the same as an 18-wheeler truck, but received no answer before publication time.
