‘Racial Equity,’ Biden Administration Approves $86 Million For Free Masks

Joe Biden’s team announced that they are unveiling a new program to deliver taxpayer-funded masks Across the country. The bill will total about $86 million.

The Biden team estimates that it will send 25 million masks to 1,300 community health centers, food pantries, and soup kitchens.

Jeff Zients issued a statement during a White House briefing regarding the plan. “While masks are widely available in many different shapes and sizes, many low-income Americans still lack affordable access to this basic protection. That’s why we’re taking this important action to keep Americans safe.”

“It’s part of our equity strategy and central to that,” Zients said, re-using the same ‘racial equity’ rhetoric being pushed by the left.

The masks will be “no-cost, high-quality, washable and consistent with the mask guidance from the CDC,” said the White House. “All of these masks will be made in America and will not impact the availability of masks for health care workers.”

“With this action, we are helping to level the playing field, giving vulnerable populations quality well-fitting masks,” Zients said.

This comes at a time when recent CDC guidelines call for double-masking using good-fitting masks to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

According to the White House, the Department of Health and Human Services will be responsible for executing the program. The Department of Defense will also assist in deploying masks across the country.
