Republicans Cave To Pelosi, Unanimously Vote To Give $350 Million To Refugees In Coronavirus Relief Bill

Democratic and Republican senators unanimously
voted to pass a $2 trillion coronavirus
relief bill to provide assistance to millions of Americans who are
in need.

However, by voting for the bill, Senate Republicans caved into Nancy Pelosi’s demands to provide a significant payment of taxpayer dollars to refugees and migrants.

The bill includes $350,000,000 to assist
refugees and migrants.

The coronavirus relief bill passed in the House Friday by a voice vote.  President Trump signed the bill into law shortly after.

Migration and Refugee Assistance was reportedly
worked into the bill without the Republicans’
knowledge.

I’m not one to ever make excuses for Republicans in Congress.  They are notoriously spineless and always cave to Democrat socialist demands.  However, Republicans’ hands are essentially tied in these sorts of instances. If they hold up the bill to have funding for refugees removed, they are going to be accused of not having the American public’s best interests at heart.

The open-borders Democrats may be pleased with this provision, but Republicans have been left reeling. No one seems to know why the amount was added by Pelosi by a coronavirus relief bill for Americans.

Coronavirus relief checks will take at least three weeks to be sent to Americans.  In the meantime, the coronavirus pandemic continues to have a major effect on the economy. Without already having these relief payments, a wide range of Americans are left to wonder where their next rent or mortgage payment that is due on April 1st is going to come from.

At the current moment, it is unclear
as to when Americans will be able to return to work and a semblance of
normalcy.  The coronavirus relief package is
designed to offer a bit of breathing room to those who are concerned. Americans
who earned less than $75,000 in 2018 and/or 2019 are eligible to receive a
one-time payment of $1,200.

The amount is decreased by $5 for $100 of income that the taxpayer made. Those who earned at least $99,999 in either of the past two years are not going to be eligible for these payments.

The recent news
regarding the economy has been bleak. According to reports, American
unemployment filings have broken the 3 million mark.

This is an unprecedented number and it requires actions that are equally unprecedented. The Republicans were forced to cave into the far-left demands of Democrats.   It remains to be seen as to whether the $350 million will be used in a helpful manner.

During a time when
the American people need more assistance than ever before, these types of moves
of providing money to refugees and migrants are puzzling at best and actively
harmful at worst.

The coronavirus panic continues to cause all sorts of ripple effects that we never thought possible and things may get worse before they get better.
